About the Role

The Researcher is responsible for conducting in-depth research and analysis to support the organization’s programs and initiatives. This role involves gathering, analyzing, and interpreting data to inform evidence-based practices, policy development, and program evaluation. The Researcher works closely with program leads and senior management to ensure that research findings are integrated into the organization’s strategies and services.

Job Duties:
• Conduct primary and secondary research to gather data relevant to the organization’s programs, services, and target populations.
• Analyze and interpret research findings to provide insights and recommendations for program improvement and policy development.
• Collaborate with program leads to design and implement research studies that align with the organization’s goals and objectives.
• Prepare detailed reports, presentations, and publications based on research findings to inform internal and external stakeholders.
• Ensure that all research activities comply with ethical standards and relevant regulations, including obtaining necessary approvals and consents.
• Stay informed about current trends, best practices, and advancements in the field to inform the organization’s research agenda.
• Provide training and support to staff on research methodologies and data analysis techniques.
• Collaborate with external partners, such as academic institutions and research organizations, to enhance the organization’s research capabilities.
• Evaluate the effectiveness of programs and services through data collection, analysis, and reporting, making recommendations for improvement.
• Present research findings at conferences, workshops, and other professional forums to contribute to the broader field and raise awareness of the organization’s work.

Requirements

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in social sciences, psychology, public administration, statistics, or a related field required; a master’s degree is preferred.

  • Additional coursework or certifications in research methodologies, data analysis, or related areas is a plus.


Previous Job Experience:

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a research role, preferably within a nonprofit organization, social services, or a related field.

  • Proven experience in conducting both qualitative and quantitative research, including designing studies, collecting data, and analyzing results.

  • Demonstrated ability to be proactive and think critically, with a strong aptitude for managing multiple research projects simultaneously.

  • Experience with statistical software and data analysis tools (e.g., SPSS, R, NVivo) is required.

  • Familiarity with ethical research practices and regulations, including obtaining necessary approvals and consents.

  • Experience in preparing detailed reports, presentations, and publications based on research findings.

  • Experience with literature reviews and synthesizing information from multiple sources to inform research projects is essential.

  • Prior experience working with startup organizations or newer establishments and contributing innovative ideas for research practices is a plus.
