About the Role

The Human Resource Generalist is responsible for managing a wide range of human resource functions to support the organization’s goals and ensure a positive and productive work environment. This role includes recruitment, employee relations, benefits administration, compliance, and more. The Human Resource Generalist works closely with management to develop and implement HR strategies that align with the organization's mission and values. Being proactive, a critical thinker, and capable of managing multiple tasks are essential qualities for success in this role. Experience with startup organizations or newer establishments and innovative ideas for HR systems is a plus.

Job Duties:
• Manage the full recruitment process, including job postings, screening, interviewing, and onboarding new employees.
• Administer employee benefits programs, including health insurance, retirement plans, and leave policies, ensuring compliance with applicable regulations.
• Handle employee relations matters, including conflict resolution, disciplinary actions, and performance management, fostering a positive work environment.
• Maintain and update HR systems, ensuring accurate and secure employee records, and assist with payroll processing.
• Develop and implement HR policies and procedures to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws.
• Provide guidance and support to employees and managers on HR-related issues, including performance improvement plans, career development, and training opportunities.
• Coordinate employee training and development programs, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and employee growth.
• Assist with organizational development initiatives, including succession planning, employee engagement, and retention strategies.
• Conduct regular audits of HR processes and systems to identify areas for improvement and implement innovative solutions.
• Support management in aligning HR practices with strategic objectives, ensuring the organization’s workforce is well-positioned to meet its goals.
• Serve as a point of contact for HR-related inquiries, ensuring prompt and accurate responses to employees and management.
• Participate in and support organizational events, activities, and initiatives to promote a positive organizational culture.

Requirements

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field is required.

  • Professional certification in Human Resources, such as SHRM-CP, PHR, or equivalent, is preferred.


Previous Job Experience:

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a human resources role, with a broad understanding of HR functions including recruitment, employee relations, benefits administration, and compliance.

  • Proven experience in managing multiple HR tasks simultaneously and handling sensitive and confidential information with discretion.

  • Demonstrated ability to be proactive, a critical thinker, and effectively manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.

  • Experience with startup organizations or newer establishments is a plus, particularly in implementing innovative HR systems and processes.

  • Familiarity with HR software and systems (e.g., HRIS, applicant tracking systems) and proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.

  • Experience in developing and delivering training programs, managing employee relations, and ensuring compliance with labor laws and regulations is essential.

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively with staff at all levels of the organization.
