About the Role

The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) is responsible for the overall strategic direction, leadership, and administration of the social services agency, ensuring the organization meets its mission of preparing youth aging out of foster care for adult living. The CEO reports to the Board of Directors and collaborates with stakeholders to secure funding and resources.

Job Duties:
• Develop and implement the agency’s strategic plan and vision.
• Lead and manage the executive team.
• Oversee financial performance and sustainability.
• Ensure compliance with all regulations and standards.
• Represent the agency to stakeholders, donors, and the community.
• Foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and excellence.
• Secure funding through grants, donations, and partnerships.
• Report to and work closely with the Chief Financial Officer, Chief Compliance Officer, Chief Operating Officer, and Human Resources
• Lead initiatives to improve organizational systems and optimize operational processes for efficiency and effectiveness.

Requirements

Education:

  • Master’s degree in nonprofit management, business administration, social work, public administration, or a related field is required.

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field with significant additional experience may be considered in lieu of a master’s degree.

  • Professional certifications relevant to nonprofit leadership or management (e.g., Certified Nonprofit Professional (CNP)) are a plus.


Previous Job Experience:

  • Minimum of 5-7 years of senior management experience in a nonprofit organization, social services, or a similar field, with at least 3 years in an executive leadership role.

  • Proven track record of successful leadership and management, including experience in strategic planning, program development, and financial oversight.

  • Demonstrated ability to be proactive, think critically, and manage multiple tasks effectively, with strong problem-solving skills and a results-oriented approach.

  • Experience in working with a Board of Directors, including reporting on organizational performance and collaborating on strategic initiatives.

  • Prior experience with fundraising, grant writing, and donor relations is highly desirable.

  • Experience in startup organizations or newer establishments is a plus, particularly in developing and implementing innovative strategies and systems.

  • Strong knowledge of relevant laws, regulations, and best practices in nonprofit management and social services.

  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills, with the ability to inspire and lead a diverse team.
